Angie Kenny is features and production editor of Modern Gardens magazine at Bauer Media, and when she hasn't got her nose in all the lovely magazine pages that come her way, her fave place to spend her time is in her garden with husband Alan and their three cats Rupert, Darcy and Frankie.

Her journalism journey started as a reporter on local newspapers in Surrey over 20 years ago and continued in her home county of Lincolnshire, where she took on an editorship before becoming deputy editor of a national cat magazine. Her early days at Bauer began on a fishkeeping mag (the cats weren't too happy about that – no more fun toys to test!), then a health and beauty title, some food and cookery, and finally on to gardening, including Garden Answers and Garden News.

Angie says Modern Gardens magazine is right up her street, and is her style of gardening – contemporary, no green fingers required! – and you may have spotted one of her shopping features in the mag and on the Modern Gardens website and members' site. She also regularly writes about readers' lovely garden makeovers, so if you've given your plot a stylish makeover, why not send some photos and a brief description to angela.kenny@bauermedia.co.uk?

Or, if you're a garden-product company and fancy running a giveaway on Modern Gardens Insta page, Angie's your girl!

Back to Angie's own garden, and she wanted it to be very low maintenance and that’s exactly what's been achieved. The porcelain patio tiles just need an annual once over with a pressure washer and the palm and olive trees pretty much take care of themselves.

She loves how good it looks all year round, it’s great for parties, or just an intimate cocktail night – espresso martinis are a fave! – and the feline-proof fencing means the cats come and go as they please without any worry that they're getting into trouble.

While she's packed a lot in her modest terraced plot, give her more space and she'd love a sunken hot tub, a cocktail bar and a pergola. We're sure there's space for that bar in there somewhere, Angie!
